Walls!

The crew has been busy this week, and the end result is a framed home!
It was so exciting to walk through the house and finally see the layout, room sizes, etc.

Concrete

We have a slab!
Luke carved his initials in the corner of his room.
It could not have been a more perfect day.

Footings

It was a beautiful day...and Luke collected a ton of ladybugs!
There is a lot of mud, so rock had to be dumped onto the road to keep the equipment from sinking or getting stuck.

The footings are in, and work will continue this week to put in the sand and gravel to prepare for the slab. If all goes well, and the rain stays away, we may have concrete by the end of the week!

MUD!

The rain has made everything green!

Port-a-Potty

The potty has arrived, and with it the crew!

The land has been padded, trenches dug and exterior forms are going in. The plumber is working on the septic line under the house and some electrical work is being done as well. This has been a busy week, and it is fun to see the shape of the house on the ground. If all goes well, and the rain stays away, there could be some concrete by the end of next week.

Breaking Ground

The tractors arrived on Wednesday to break ground! The house is marked out with stakes, and it is actually beginning to feel like this is really going to happen.

They were not supposed to start the dig until Monday....so when we found out Bobby rushed out there to get a few photos. So excited that we didn't miss the moment!

It was a beautiful day, and you can even see the Sutter Buttes in the background.

Our House

Here is the exterior...

Finally!

Well...good news! We sign papers on Friday for our construction loan! Whew....it has been a long journey, but we are finally ready to go. The plans are at the county, and I think they are just about ready to issue the final building permit. We are hoping to break ground in the next two weeks. Check out the new photos of the property and the link to our contractor, Steven Dedrick. We have had a great experience with him so far.

I love the trees!!!
